A 16-week workshop with a supportive peer environment for those with extreme housekeeping issues. The workshop is based on the book, “Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding” by David F. Tolin, Gail Steketee, and Randy O. Frost. The workshop is a peer-led intervention for those with issues related to acquiring items, Buried In Treasures book cover clutter, or hoarding. Each session focuses on a different chapter from the “Buried in Treasures” book. Activities include discussion of each chapter, exercises from the book dealing with acquisition, discarding, and disorganization, and homework between sessions.
Hoarding affects roughly 2.3-6% of the population. However, there are relatively few services available in Vermont. This evidence-based workshop series has been shown to result in symptom relief for those affected.
Classes are located online, Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Call the Helpline to register: 1-800-642-5119.
