Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer
Give your time & impact a life

The time you donate will be repaid many times over by the relationships and memories created and the knowledge that you’ve made a difference.
Join our network of over 1,000 volunteers—we can all be proud of supporting older Vermonters.
How and where can I volunteer?
There are several ways to give your time to those who need it most. Opportunities to volunteer are available in Addison, Franklin, Grand Isle, and Chittenden and include delivering Meals on Wheels, grocery shopping, transportation to appointments, budgeting assistance, friendly visits, and more.
What time of day can I volunteer?
Meals on Wheels are delivered in the mornings and Friendly Visitor Volunteers assist clients Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
How do I volunteer?

What happens after I submit my volunteer application?
Usually new volunteers attend an in-person volunteer orientation, due to COVID-19, we have postponed these until it is safe to meet in-person again. In the meantime, we will schedule a virtual interview to meet with you so we can learn more about you. There are many ways to volunteer with our program so we want to help you find your niche so we can match you appropriately!
COVID-19 VOLUNTEER UPDATE
Volunteers, particularly, Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed now more than ever.
Please know, the Meals on Wheels delivery process has changed to allow for social-distancing. Volunteers now call clients to let them know that they are leaving the meal outside of their door.
We are in need of volunteers to deliver meals and to shop for groceries, cover our food hubs, pick up medications and other essentials in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties. As more and more older Vermonters are reaching out about receiving Meals on Wheels and other services we need extra hands.
As you can imagine the need for seniors is increasing at a steady rate. We are now serving more and more clients and the need for volunteers is growing daily.
Age Well's Meals on Wheels program provides a critical service. They are the only federally supported program designed specifically to meet the needs of seniors. People who rely on Meals on Wheels are significantly more likely to report poorer health, screen positive for depression and report recent falls and emergency department utilization. Food is medicine and we must provide both quality and therapeutic meals as a preventative measure.
Areas with greatest need for volunteers: St. Albans and Northern Franklin County.
Please join us in helping our aging population stay safe and in their homes by volunteering with Age Well.
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Age Well. Please fill out the Volunteer Information Form.
