Howard Center Announces NEW Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic Opening October 28

We invite you to learn about the new Mental Health Urgent Care (MHUC) which will open in October at 1 South Prospect St., Burlington. As a therapeutic alternative to visiting the emergency department, the clinic will offer mental health support services, peer support, and medical care in a trauma-informed, suicide-safe setting for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The initiative is a partnership among Howard Center, the University of Vermont Medical Center, Community Health Centers, Pathways Vermont, and the Vermont Department of Mental Health.
Join us on September 10 for a public town hall presentation by MHUC project managers Cathie Buscaglia and Charlotte McCorkel (Howard Center) and Maureen Leahy and Karen Vastine (University of Vermont Medical Center). They will be joined by Dr. Rob Althoff, Chair of Psychiatry at The University of Vermont Health Network; Sandra McGuire, CEO, Howard Center; Dr. Jeff McKee, Community Health Centers; Hilary Melton, Executive Director, Pathways Vermont.
