VTDigger: Age Well announces newest board member Glenn McRae
Colchester, VT (VTDigger) – Age Well, the leading experts and advocates on aging in Northwestern Vermont, is thrilled to announce Glenn McRae to their Board of Directors. A resident of Burlington, VT, McRae is the Director of the Northeast Transportation Workforce Center at the University of Vermont and the co-chair of the Burlington Aging Council.
On why he made the decision to join Age Well’s board, McRae had this to say:
“Building age-friendly communities is essential to a sustainable future for Vermont. I welcome the opportunity to join the learning community of the Age Well Board to contribute my personal and professional experiences to strengthen and advance the organization’s mission. Advancing an asset-based approach to aging has the potential to pay dividends for Vermonters and Vermont.”
He has a PhD in Anthropology and a background in Social Ecology and Anthropology serving as a foundation for his interest in older adults and the aging network.
McRae has led local, state-wide and international organizations working to advance local food systems, socially responsible business development, recycling and safe waste management, and social enterprise development.
