There is nothing like the holiday season in Vermont. While the days grow colder and darker, for many, our homes fill with warmth and light as we gather to celebrate family traditions that bring us closer together. It’s also a time to reflect on what matters most, and on the power of giving.
At Age Well, we believe that every older Vermonter deserves age with dignity, independence, and connection. Your generosity during the holidays and throughout the year helps us provide essential services like Meals on Wheels, wellness programs, and social activities that combat hunger and isolation.
“Age Well has kept me socially, emotionally, and physically sharp, as well as giving me purpose by helping others. And now I will be able to remain in my home as I age. I am so grateful.”
– Marie, Age Well client
Family Traditions and the Spirit of Giving
Many families celebrate the holidays with cherished traditions—baking cookies, lighting candles, or gathering for a festive meal.
For Caleb from Williston, giving back has become one of the most meaningful traditions of all. A few years ago, his grandmother, Diane, received Meals on Wheels during a difficult winter. The nutritious meal and care she received inspired the family to stay connected to Age Well long after she regained her independence.
Now, each December, they make a donation in her honor.
“We know there are older Vermonters spending the holidays alone. If our gift can help deliver a warm meal or a friendly visit, that means everything to us.”
Moments like these remind us of the importance of connection and the profound impact each act of generosity and caring for one another can make.
2025 Holiday Giving Opportunities with Age Well
Giving not only helps others, but it can also be deeply meaningful for you. Every dollar donated or an hour volunteered becomes a meal delivered, a wellness class offered, or a friendly visit made to an older Vermonter.
In addition, your year-end gift may be tax-deductible, helping you maximize your impact.
Here are a few ways to give:
